The day was beautiful and so was the bride. Long veils are my weakness and all of my brides know how giddy I get when they whip out their long beautiful tulle gracing the back of their perfect gown. On the day of Victoria’s bridals, I walked into the room where she was putting her final details together before heading out to document her bridal portraits, I noticed her oh so stunning + long veil! We all know that veils + strong winds don’t always mix and we were reminded this the entire time of her portraits. To me the wind added that extra movement, that extra stunning flow of the tulle, that extra giggle as we detangled Victoria, and those extra memories at the fun time we all had.
When Victoria went to shop for her dream dress, she had a specific style in mind. “I originally wanted a plain satin ball gown, timeless and traditional. After trying on about 20 ballgowns, I was ready to settle for the ballgown I liked the most, but I didn’t truly love it”. The dress consultant saw that she wasn’t all in and convinced her to try something different, “she chose this satin and tulle mermaid. I instantly loved it!!”
When I asked Victoria, “Why THIS dress?” her answer couldn’t have been more perfect.. “This dress was perfect for me because it was the perfect combination of traditional and whimsical. My dress ended up being the inspiration for the rest of my wedding”.
The Picture Perfect Location
Just like her dress, Victoria chose a timeless and inspiring place to capture her bridal portraits. “I just love the grandeur of the Old State Capital. It looks like a castle, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. The huge oaks, the beautiful doors, and the capital itself are all breathtaking”
Sweet Advice From One Bride To Another
We all appreciate a word of advice when it comes to planning our perfect day. It’s even better when it comes from first hand experience!
“I would advise a future bride to soak up all of the love and support she will receive from everyone when engaged. It is easy to get overwhelmed and consumed with all of the planning, but when you pause and realize how many people are willing to help you and how many people want to give you the wedding of your dreams, it is truly amazing.”
